LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Royal author and historian Hugo Vickers believes Prince Harry will one day leave his wife, Meghan Markle, to rejoin his royal family permanently across the pond.
In an interview with royal editor Matt Wilkinson for ‘The Sun’s Royal Exclusive’ podcast,
veteran Hugo Vickers stated that the rebel Duke is currently racked with “anger” and a deep dread of losing his Duchess.
However, he added that this “dysfunction” cannot last much longer, as per OK Magazine.
Veteran royal author says King Charles has left the door wide open for Prince Harry
When Wilkinson asked the royal author, “Where do you think they will be in 20 years time?” Vickers replied, “I think he’ll come home, and if he comes home, we must be very nice to him because he won’t particularly want to. He’s quite angry I think.”
The host then questioned whether King Charles III, if still reigning, would welcome his youngest child back, and Vickers said, “Yes, I do. The King has left the door wide open for him to do that and he was doing such a good job before and … he looked so happy.”
The ‘Horses and Husbands’ author went on to expound on Prince Harry’s intricate and emotional situation, saying, “Usually, you’re happy when you’re doing your duty and you’re doing it for other people and you’re putting things into life.”
“If you’re taking things out of life, at the risk of getting a lot of hate mail, I personally think that he looks like he’s petrified of losing her [Meghan] and looks slightly petrified of her,” remarked Vickers.
After the host shared that Prince Harry decided to leave the monarchy at his own will, Vickers stated, “I was in Windsor the day they got married, and the popularity and the goodwill towards them was enormous.”

Prince Harry and his wife revealed on Instagram in January 2020 that they intended to “step back” as senior members of the royal family.
They decided to divide their time between the UK and North America, and attain financial independence, while “continuing to honour our duty to the Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages”
Royal author Vickers speculated about what would have transpired if the couple had continued with their royal responsibilities.
The veteran author stated that “Megxit” was unfortunate as Meghan and Harry were given the complete Commonwealth to explore, whereas Prince William and Kate Middleton were assigned to take care of local chores, as per Mint.
The royal author expressed sadness that while Meghan’s previous work in the Commonwealth had made the Queen’s proposal look perfect, it wasn’t enough for them. He lamented that what may have been wonderful did not turn out as expected.
Prince Harry and Meghan, as previously reported, haven’t traveled to the UK as a couple since Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral on September 19, 2022.
Several analysts expressed their belief that the former ‘Suits’ star “will never set foot in Britain again.”
Many have speculated that the couple would eventually get a divorce, with an insider from the palace saying that this would happen “only when Meghan finishes with him.”
