Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, is gearing up for his television debut on July 16th.
The NFL standout took a brief hiatus from Chiefs practice to join the set of Ryan Murphy’s highly anticipated new series, “Grotesquery,” where he officially joins the cast.
The 34-year-old athlete was seen heading to the set in an all-white suit, complete with a button-down shirt, pants, and white sneakers.
In one of the photos, Kelce is pictured holding a rolled-up copy of the script in one hand and his phone in the other, exuding confidence as he embarks on his first foray into the acting world.
Kelce has been spotted on the set of the Ryan Murphy FX series multiple times in recent months, marking this as his initial step into acting. The TV project, set to launch at the start of the NFL season, aims to capitalize on Kelce’s widespread popularity. Despite his lack of acting experience, Kelce landed a significant role in the show.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Kelce expressed his surprise and gratitude for the opportunity. “Ryan Murphy is a great writer, director, producer—all of the above,” Kelce said. “He could do anything, and everyone was so helpful in making me feel comfortable, also just giving me the direction and guidance I need to portray my role. I was really surprised and shocked when he agreed to give me a role like this because this is a big role in the show. He seemed very confident that I could do this, and he instilled that confidence in me from our first conversation, so hopefully I don’t ruin this for him.”
Kelce’s commitment to the series meant skipping the Chiefs’ first practice session to attend the studio. This decision has raised questions among fans, especially with the NFL season around the corner. Kelce has been an avid supporter of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, attending numerous shows on her Eras Tour and even making a surprise appearance as a backup dancer during her London performance. His frequent travels to Europe to support Swift have kept fans speculating about his focus on the upcoming NFL season.
As the NFL season approaches, attention will now shift to Kelce’s dual responsibilities. Training camp is set to begin at the end of next week, and fans are eager to see how the star tight end balances his new acting role with his football commitments.
