If arm wrestling were an Olympic sport, retired NFL star Jason Kelce might have a bright future in it.
The former Philadelphia Eagles center recently arm wrestled Team USA rugby player Nicole Heavirland in a video she shared on Instagram on July 28.
“@jason.kelce holding on to that table a little bit?” she captioned the clip.
“Holding onto something with your off hand is completely within the rules of the International Federation of Arm Wrestling,” Jason Kelce replied in the comments.
In the video, the pair engage in a fierce struggle for several seconds before Kelce, wearing a French beret, finally pins Heavirland, raising his arms in victory as the crowd cheers. They then shake hands and share a friendly embrace.
Jason Kelce is a passionate supporter of the women’s rugby team. He featured in another Instagram video with team member Ilona Maher, who humorously acknowledged his support.
“Women’s water polo has Flavor Flav as their super fan,” Maher said. “And you are a girl dad. Do you get anything from being our super fan? No. There’s no money, no benefits.”
“I am officially a fan, women’s rugby, Olympics,” Kelce replied.
“We got Jason Kelce,” Maher announced, sparking cheers from those present.
As Team USA prepares to face France in pool play on July 29, Kelce’s support is hoped to bring them luck.
Kelce has also been visible in other Olympic events, showcasing his enthusiasm for Team USA while embracing Parisian fashion. Along with his wife, Kylie Kelce, he attended the U.S. women’s field hockey team’s opening game on July 27 against Argentina. The U.S. team, composed of Olympic rookies, faced a tough 4-1 loss to Argentina. They are set to play Spain next on July 29.
At the event, the couple was seen in the stands donning patriotic attire. Jason wore a navy blue sweatshirt with “USA” emblazoned on the chest and a matching blue beret, which he mentioned was a souvenir shop find. Kylie sported a white jacket with blue and red stripes over a T-shirt and jeans.
The official X for USA Field Hockey posted several photos of the couple at the game, including a group shot with the team.
Reflecting on their Olympic experience, Jason Kelce shared, “When we found out that we were going to have an opportunity to go to this, the more we thought about it, we were like, ‘Let’s take advantage of it now that we can actually do it.’ We love sports, we love competition, we love world events.”
Kylie Kelce, who played field hockey in college and currently coaches, expressed her long-held desire to attend the Olympic Games. “When they qualified to come to Paris, I was like, that kind of makes sense. And then when I got to sit down with Ashley and Kelee, it was kind of a no-brainer,” she said, referring to players Ashley Sessa and Kelee Lepage.
Kylie had previously shared a TikTok video with Lepage and Sessa as part of her series, “Places Kylie Has No Business Being.”
Reflecting on her interaction with the team, Kylie said, “It was just really cool to sit down and talk with them about what this means to them, how they’ve looked forward to it and what it took for them to get here. It’s so amazing to see them on this stage.”
As the Kelces continue to enjoy the Olympics, their presence and support for Team USA highlight the unity and excitement that the Games bring to fans and athletes alike.
