It all started when Kelce, who has been dating Swift for the better part of a year, began bringing the singer to the team’s facilities more frequently.

Ultimately, Kelce said that he understood where Coach Reid and the rest of the coaching staff were coming from and that he was willing to respect their decision, even if it meant keeping his girlfriend out of the locker room. “I know that Coach Reid and the rest of the staff are just looking out for the best interest of the team,” Kelce said. “And at the end of the day, that’s what’s most important. So if they feel like banning Taylor from the locker room is the right thing to do, then I’m going to support that decision.”

Kelce went on to say that he and Swift have actually been able to turn the situation into a positive, using the time they spend apart to focus on their individual pursuits and passions. “Taylor and I have actually been able to use this as an opportunity to grow and develop as individuals,” Kelce said. “She’s been able to work on her music while I’ve been able to really hone in on my football skills and my leadership role on the team.”
