Kylie Kelce Reveals Travis Kelce’s Ridiculously Expensive $38k Purchase with His First NFL Paycheck

Kylie Kelce recently unveiled a surprising detail about her brother-in-law, Travis Kelce’s first big purchase after joining the NFL, and it’s a story that’s got everyone talking.

The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end, who has since earned over $76 million in NFL salary across 11 seasons, made a splurge with his very first paycheck that many might find extravagant.

Speaking on Philadelphia’s 94WIP radio, Kylie shared how Travis, fresh from his signing bonus, decided to buy a pair of Marty McFly shoes, famously worn by Michael J. Fox in “Back to the Future II.”

The shoes, highly sought after by sneakerheads and movie fans alike, are currently valued at $38,500 on StockX, making it a luxurious item for a rookie to purchase.

Kylie recalled, “Early on when we were dating, Travis came into town, I think with the Marty McFly shoes. I didn’t have the chance to meet Travis that time, but Jason told me, after the fact, how much of a hard time he gave Travis after Travis divulged how much he spent on the shoes. It’s warranted.”

Travis’s older brother, Jason Kelce, wasn’t too thrilled about the purchase either. Jason recounted giving Travis a stern talk after discovering the hefty price tag. “Somebody told me you had bought those shoes and I looked up how much they were and remember being like ‘What the f***, Travis?’”

Travis didn’t just stop with the shoes; he also paired them with a Rolex watch, burning through most of his signing bonus in one go. Reflecting on his younger, more impulsive days, Travis said on the New Heights Podcast, “I was walking into this empty apartment with Marty McFlys on and a Rolex. I felt like I was the coolest guy in the world.”

Though now seen as a seasoned player with a two-year, $34.25 million contract extension with the Chiefs, Travis’s early spending habits show a different side to the star—one who was eager to enjoy the spoils of his newfound NFL status. Despite the perceived recklessness, Kylie Kelce couldn’t help but defend Travis a bit, saying, “They’re so cool, but he deserved a little flack for that one.”

Over a decade into his career, Travis Kelce has certainly proven his worth on the field, but his story also serves as a reminder of the lessons learned from early fame and fortune.
