As a strong advocate for the Black community, Hamilton frequently shares his support on social media. In 2025, the Met Gala will host an event called Superfine: Tailoring Black Style and Hamilton will co-chair alongside Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky.

As the only Black driver on the track, he felt immense pressure to succeed. Many people doubted him when he started his career. Hamilton highlighted the importance of representation and embracing one’s identity.
This theme speaks to me deeply. When I started my career I never imagined what I might be capable of beyond my sport. The pressure to confirm so many people back. Growing up as the only black kid on the track, so often that pressure got to me.

During an interview on the Howard Stern Show, American presidential candidate Kamala Harris discussed her love for Formula 1. She shared that her entire family enjoys watching the races, too. However, she admitted that her busy campaign schedule leaves her little time to follow the sport. Despite this, Harris still makes an effort to watch when she can.
When asked about her favorite driver, she fondly mentioned Lewis Hamilton, praising his incredible success and the challenges he has faced.
