At the announcement held at the Met Museum, Hamilton explained what fashion means to him. He emphasized its power as a platform for self-expression and advocacy.
Lewis Hamilton has attended the Met Gala since 2015. Each year, the event has a different theme, often reflecting art, history, or culture. The 2025 theme will focus on the Black dandy from 18th-century Europe. Given Hamilton’s identity and his vocal support for the Black community, organizers chose him as one of the event’s co-chairs.
At the Met Museum, he delivered a heartfelt message, sharing that fashion, for him, feels like the air in his lungs. The Briton compared fashion to mood as it swings every day and evolves constantly. For him, fashion is dynamic, always adapting and reshaping itself much like the changes he experiences in life.
