Hamilton, no Pirelli test with Ferrari:
– Lewis Hamilton will not participate in the Pirelli tire test in Abu Dhabi, as Mercedes has not granted permission for an early start with Ferrari. Instead, Hamilton will attend a commercial event with Petronas on the same day as the test.
– Ferrari plans to give Hamilton a chance to familiarize himself with the team and car through one or two “Testing of Previous Cars” (TPC) sessions in January or February, likely using the F1-75 from 2022.
“I’m not sure that Hamilton needs many hours to get used to Ferrari,” said team principal Frederic Vasseur.
“He is a driver who is sufficiently experienced to be fast on the first day, or at least very fast. We will do one or two days of TPC, then the tests in Bahrain, and I am convinced that it will be enough.”
– Vasseur also shared insights into Ferrari’s preparation for 2025, explaining that a part of the team is already focused on integrating Hamilton and ensuring smooth operations for the upcoming season.
“Certainly there is a part of the team that is already focusing on 2025, on the organization of the tests and on communication, with Lewis falling into this type of programming.”
“For the moment, however, these speeches do not concern the team on the track and (2025) is not in my thoughts.”
