Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz suffered from a massive puncture due to on-track debris that FIA decided to not clear immediately.
The Qatar GP has continued to put forth some extremely interesting situations throughout the race. The colossal crash between three cars at the start of the race caused a safety car in the beginning. Moreover, the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton‘s woeful performances continued as he suffered from an extremely disappointing situation.
Mid-way through the Qatar GP, someone lost the side mirror as it fell down onto the main straight. The FIA and stewards did not interfere in the matter to clear debris off the track.
As a result, Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas drove into the glass and shattered it into pieces. This debris caused massive problems for Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton.
Both Hamilton and Sainz suffered from a puncture in the chassis causing yet another safety car in the race. Multiple drivers including McLaren’s Lando Norris received a free pit-stop under the safety car. Apart from this, Hamilton lost multiple positions on the track and is way behind the pack currently. The Spaniard, on the other hand, managed to keep hold of his position and has recovered from the incident.

Lewis Hamilton berated his ‘luck’ for suffering from such a situation at the Qatar GP
Lewis Hamilton suffered from an extremely disappointing situation in a case where he wasn’t even at fault. The Briton incurred massive damage to the floor of the chassis before pitting. As a result, the 39-year-old took to the team radio to berate his poor luck in terms of performances this season.

The FIA messed up this time by not clearing the dangerous debris off the racing track sooner. Both Sainz and Hamilton faced massive problems and could’ve been involved in a bigger incident. The track marshals and stewards will have to face the flak from the public following the tricky situation.
