Fans reacted to Lewis Hamilton’s confusing statement about not being a “hardcore” Taylor Swift fan. The Formula 1 discussed what makes a fan “Swiftie.”
Hamilton has previously discussed the importance of music in his life. However, he does not seem to be a huge Taylor Swift fan or at least a Swiftie, as her fans like to call themselves.
Recently, Naomi Schiff asked the Mercedes driver why he isn’t a fan of Swift. Answering the question quite diplomatically, Hamilton stated that he never claimed not to be one. He then cross-questioned, asking who a Swiftie is.

“I didnt say I’m not a swiftie, but to be (fair), What is a Swiftie? you have to be pretty hardcore?” he remarked.
He then shared that he loves one of Swift’s songs, but has not heard a lot of them.
“Well yeah I just told you one of her songs that I love but I dont know all her songs and I dont particularly listen to albums anymore.”
His fans, meanwhile, reacted to his comments hilariously.
“because her music is shit, say it as it is Lewis,” a user wrote.
“omg naomi wants swifties to get him, let me hide him in my pocket,” another fan wrote.
Another user mentioned that it was okay for Hamilton not to listen to Swift, while another comment was confused about the question’s relevance.
“My GOAT doesn’t have to a swiftie and that’s ok!” wrote another fan.
“Who asked him that stupid ass question?” a user questioned.
Some comments also mentioned that Hamilton might have been a little worried about Taylor Swift fans reacting to his answer.
“Saw his life flash before his eyes he does NOT want the Swifties after him,” joked a fan.
Lewis Hamilton reveals how music helps him keep his sanity in the competitive F1 world
Being a Formula 1 driver can sometimes be extremely stressful. From physically challenging races to stressful championship results, it can take quite a toll on the drivers.
Lewis Hamilton is no different. While speaking to the Rolling Stones, he discussed the importance of music in his life. He shared that it helps him to remain sane while competing in F1.
“Music is the biggest part of my life. It’s the most important thing that keeps me sane. In a sport where you don’t feel like you could fit in, where you know you’re different, but you can’t really talk too much and there’s no way to express yourself other than in a car, to then have music and be able to put my feelings out into something,” he said.
Hamilton is currently in his final F1 season with Mercedes. After establishing a record-breaking career with the team in the past decade, he will soon be parting ways. In 2025, he will don the iconic red of Ferrari, teaming up with Charles Leclerc.
