DeJuan Bonds, who has been Patrick Mahomes’ trusted barber for years, told Us Weekly that he had to talk the 29-year-old athlete out of making any impulsive decisions during his heightened emotional state.

Bonds explained, “The whole time that I’ve been cutting his hair, he just lets me do what I do. But when he asked for a change, he basically was like, ‘Just cut me all off.'”

However, the barber persuaded Mahomes to take a more thoughtful approach, saying, “I was like, ‘No, no, no. We’re not just going to cut it all off. We’re actually going to collab on this and go a little bit at a time, take it a little bit down.” They eventually agreed on a new look that both were happy with.

“We kind of came to a common ground like, ‘OK, this is the cut, this is the cut, this is the length.’ It was a collaboration on this last one,” Bonds added.
