Travis Kelce and the world’s biggest music star have been in a relationship for approximately 20 months now. Swift frequently attended Chiefs games during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, including their two Super Bowl contests.
After the Chiefs were humiliated 40-22 by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59, Kelce took some time away to ponder his playing future. The 35-year-old ultimately decided to suit up for another year, not wanting to call it a career after a crushing Super Bowl loss.
Us Weekly spoke to numerous sources close to Kelce and Swift who suggested that the high-profile relationship affected Kansas City’s star tight end during the 2024 season. One source told the outlet that the couple has learned “so much attention on their relationship is not the best thing.”

That same source told Us Weekly that Kelce’s skyrocketing fame became overwhelming for him, and that the future Hall of Famer wants to keep the focus on a strong 2025 NFL campaign:
“Travis wants to take [a breather] from the public eyeHe was working too much last year, and he didn’t play as well as he wanted. He wants to have a good season and not have the focus be on his relationship with Taylor.”
With three championship rings and a Hall of Fame resume, Kelce has nothing more to prove on the football field. But a fourth ring would go a long way in strengthening an already near-flawless legac.

Kelce finished the 2024 regular season with just 97 catches for 823 yards and three touchdowns, missing out on the 1,000-yard mark for the second straight year. This was Kelce’s worst statistical season since he became a regular starter in 2014.
The future Hall of Famer was also a non-factor in the postseason, with only 13 catches for 175 yards and a touchdown. Has age caught up to Kelce, or does he just need more focus on football to regain his All-Pro form? Stay tuned.
