Vitoria Mario, an 18-year-old girl originally from Portugal, moved to Tottenham, UK, four years ago to live with relatives after her father passed away. Her mother remained in Portugal. In her heartfelt appeal, Vitoria explained, “Sadly, my father passed away, and my mother is still in Portugal. Leaving her was a difficult decision, but my family believed it was a necessary sacrifice for a better future. Education in England offers unparalleled opportunities, but it comes with significant trade-offs.”

Desperate for help, Vitoria sent emails to 442 companies and left handwritten letters in postboxes across London’s wealthiest neighborhoods. Yet, her pleas went unanswered—until Patrick Mahomes came across her story.
