RF. Meet Princess Diana’s Nieces – Including the Twins Who Once Stayed out of the Spotlight & Now Look

Princess Diana had four siblings, three of whom are still living: Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes, and Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer. Their older brother, John Spencer, passed away just hours after he was born in 1960.

While the former Princess of Wales’ family has experienced its share of sorrow, it has also grown across generations. Today, her nieces are all grown up — and two of them, who are twins, often draw attention from fans who say they bear a striking resemblance to their late aunt.

From leading quiet lives outside the spotlight to stepping into the world of fashion, Princess Diana’s three nieces have each taken their own unique path.

Lady Eliza and Amelia Spencer were born on July 10, 1992, in the United Kingdom but spent much of their childhood in South Africa. As the twin daughters of Charles and his first wife, model Victoria Lockwood, they lived far from the public eye in their early years.

In a rare interview together, the sisters offered a glimpse into their life as twins. Lady Amelia shared, “We’ve always been very close. We’re very similar. We love doing the same things and share the same friends. You’re guaranteed to have a best friend there always — you can’t really compare it to anything else.”

Lady Eliza added a memory from their school days at Reddam House in Constantia, where they often ended up on the same sports teams. Whether it was swimming, netball, tennis, riding, or even water polo now and then, they did most things side by side.

As they got older, their strong connection stayed the same, strengthened by the moments they shared and the different places they lived.

Though the siblings were not born in South America, the family relocated there in 1995 to escape the heavy press attention tied to their last name. Two years later, their parents separated. Still, both sisters hold warm memories of Althorp, the family’s historic estate, where they spent school holidays with their father.

“It is a truly special and beautiful place,” Eliza said. “Having spent the first three years of our lives at Althorp, exploring and discovering it as children, and being part of a long heritage of Spencers that have lived there, it has always felt like another home.”

It also brought back memories for Eliza of spending Christmas there as children, surrounded by their whole family. Those early memories at Althorp were only part of the story. Life in SA brought its own kind of joy. The twins enjoyed a happy childhood in Constantia, a peaceful and well-known suburb in Cape Town, where they lived with their mother.

Lady Eliza remembered their family trips to Cederberg, where things were simple and quiet. “We used to go away to Cederberg on camping trips, where there would be no electricity,” she said. “We were always in nature, on farms — we wouldn’t have been able to do that if we hadn’t been here.”

Their quiet life in SA stood in contrast to the attention they later received as young women. Lady Eliza and Amelia first appeared in the public spotlight in 2011 when they attended the wedding of their cousin, Prince William.

Several years later, in 2018, Lady Amelia joined her mother, older sister, and younger brother, Louis, Viscount Althorp, at Prince Harry’s royal wedding. Their presence at royal weddings marked a shift into public life, yet personal ties and memories have always remained close to their hearts.

While Lady Eliza and Amelia no longer visit Althorp as often, their brother Louis still feels a deep connection to the estate. “He spent lockdown there and has embraced all the English traditions,” Lady Amelia shared.

She also remembered the princess visiting them a few times. She had stayed with them at their father’s house in Cape Town shortly before she passed away. “We were very fortunate to have spent that time with her,” added Lady Eliza.

Moments like those spent with Princess Diana stayed with the sisters, quietly shaping how they carry her memory in their lives today. Years later, the sisters would catch the public’s attention for more than just their royal roots.

When they stepped out in sleek, black outfits reminiscent of their famous aunt’s unforgettable “revenge dress,” headlines quickly followed. The look drew comparisons from fans who couldn’t help but point out the likeness.

Beyond their public appearances and growing popularity, Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia, 32, have also built meaningful lives away from the spotlight. Lady Amelia married Greg Mallett at Quoin Rock wine estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Meanwhile, Lady Eliza has been in a long-term relationship with Channing Millerd for nine years. “Marriage is definitely something we’ve talked about,” she shared during a joint interview.

Greg and Channing, who were schoolmates, share similar values and interests. Greg once said their bond grew through sports and a shared outlook on life, which made introducing Lady Eliza to Channing feel natural.

He believed they were a great match from the beginning and was glad to see their connection deepen over time. Today, the four of them live in London, where the twins’ modeling careers continue to thrive.

Her distinct features quickly made her a favorite in the industry. Over time, she embraced the bold elegance of Dolce & Gabbana, eventually becoming one of the label’s most recognized ambassadors. Her connection to the brand became even more personal when she married Michael wearing five custom Alta Moda gowns during a grand celebration in Rome in 2022.

From life in SA to stepping into global fashion circles, the sisters continue to attract attention for their grace and style. Their shared bond, love for family, and public presence keep Princess Diana’s legacy alive in a meaningful way. As they grow, they remain admired not just for who they are, but also for the woman they remind so many of.
