Francesco Cigarini analyzed that the core value Lewis Hamilton brings is structural experience and organization: “Hamilton brings knowledge and organisation typical of British teams—which are highly structured and different from Ferrari.”
He affirmed that the decision to sign a multiple world champion was absolutely correct. “Today, something similar can be rebuilt with Lewis: signing a multiple world champion was the right choice, not only for marketing reasons but also for the experience he brings.”
However, Cigarini stressed that Hamilton’s effectiveness depends on how much the team genuinely values his input. He issued a serious warning about team psychology:
“The question is how much weight the team really gives to what he says. If he suggests something and is not listened to because ‘Leclerc is faster,’ it becomes a vicious circle: the driver does not feel part of the technical management.”
Cigarini also analyzed the difference between the two top drivers: “Leclerc is very fast and is more used to driving on eggshells [in unstable conditions]. Hamilton is strong, but he needs a more solid car. If Ferrari listens to him, the team can improve in the long term.”
Patience is the Key

The former mechanic recognized that the rebuilding process required for Ferrari to fight for wins and titles again demands time and patience.
He concluded by referencing the team’s golden era: “It takes time, as was the case with Schumacher and [Jean] Todt. It took patience at first, but then the results came. I would put my full trust in Lewis, even if the stopwatch isn’t rewarding him today. And Charles Leclerc will also benefit from this.”
