Allison Holker Boss is carrying on her late husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ legacy on So You Think You Can Dance.
After Stephen served as a judge last season, the Dancing with the Stars alum, 35, will be taking a seat on the judging panel alongside fellow new judge Maks Chmerkovskiy and Nigel Lythgoe for season 18 of the Fox dance competition, the network announced on Tuesday.
Longtime host Cat Deeley is also set to return for the upcoming season, which premieres March 4.

SYTYCD All-Star Comfort Fedoke, an associate choreographer on the new film Wicked and associate choreographer for Cabaret on London’s West End, will also be part of the judging panel as dancers compete in a variety of styles for ten spots on the show in the auditions round.
The show announced the new judging panel on social media, writing, “Meet us on the dance floor 🕺💃 #SYTYCD is BACK for Season 18 – Monday, March 4 on @foxtv and next day on @hulu! Drop a comment below if you’ll be tuning in 🪩”
“So You Think You Can Dance is television’s preeminent dance competition, and we are thrilled to bring the beloved show back for an all-new season,” Allison Wallach, President of Unscripted Programming at Fox Entertainment, said in a statement after the news was announced. “Reuniting Cat, Nigel, Allison and Comfort and, welcoming Maksim into the SYTYCD family, is sure to make Season 18 bigger than ever for their legions of fans around the globe.”
Season 18 will introduce a new format in which contestants will “compete in new, intense dance challenges that will give them a real taste of the career, from performing in a music video or a football halftime show to going toe-to-toe on stage with a Broadway performer” while vying for the $100,000 grand prize and the title of So You Think You Can Dance champion, according to the network.
In addition to dance numbers, fans can also expect to see “a documentary-style inside look at the contestants’ dynamics” as they navigate “their personal and competitive journeys, including the daily struggles, new relationships, personality clashes and more.”
Allison’s return to So You Think You Can Dance comes after her husband Stephen died from suicide at age 40 in December 2022.
The couple first met when they were all-stars on season 7 of SYTYCD, but they didn’t actually hit it off until the season wrap party.
“We shared a dance at the wrap party of that season of So You Think You Can Dance and we have been together ever since,” Stephen previously told PEOPLE.
“There was no dialogue, there was no conversation or a first hangout. Literally, we danced and we were together holding hands the very next day,” Allison added.
They went on to get married at SYTYCD creator Lythgoe’s Villa San-Juliette Vineyard & Winery in Paso Robles, California in December 2013. They are parents to three children: daughters Weslie and Zaia, and son Maddox.
