King Charles III’s health has become a topic of concern as he prepares for an 11-day royal tour of Australia, despite his ongoing battle with cancer.

The trip, scheduled for later this month, will see the king pause his cancer treatment for the duration of the tour, something that has reportedly worried Queen Camilla.

According to sources close to the Queen, she has been urging him to slow down and take better care of his health.

Though King Charles is known for his work ethic, Camilla is reportedly concerned that he is pushing himself too hard, especially with such a major overseas trip on the horizon.

The  Daily Beast reports that Queen Camilla is relieved that King Charles has agreed not to attend the COP29 climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, shortly after his return from Australia. A friend of the Queen told the outlet that she didn’t particularly want him to go on the Australia tour either and that she’ll be encouraging him to rest once he returns.

Earlier this year, King Charles received a cancer diagnosis and has been undergoing treatment since February. While his doctors have given the green light for him to pause his treatment during the Australia tour, they have also reportedly advised him to take it easy. Nonetheless, the King’s refusal to slow down has caused concern among those close to him, especially Camilla, who has been vocal about her worries over his health.

Despite the concerns, King Charles is set to carry on with his royal duties in Australia and Samoa, with plans to resume his cancer treatment once he returns to the UK. This decision reflects his strong commitment to his role as monarch, though it has added to the tensions within his inner circle about how much he should be taking on during this time.

Queen Camilla, in particular, is said to be breathing a sigh of relief after he agreed not to attend the COP29 conference, allowing for more recovery time after the long tour.
