A rock n’ roll record by Dolly Parton may help her get into the Rock Hall of Fame.
She consulted Bon Jovi guitarist and longtime friend Richie Sambora.
Sambora, 64, says, “Dolly is the queen of country, a national treasure.
I played guitar on her new song ‘Rock Star’ as requested. You want me to? “Just be yourself,” they said.
Parton and Sambora debuted at a 2014 UK festival. She welcomed me onstage after covering my song. Fun, rocked the place. They recorded the new song again in March. Sambora, who composed Bon Jovi’s “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” mixes genres.
“People usually stick to their own style, but I like genre mixing. Our music topping the charts pleases Sambora. Ava, 26, Sambora’s daughter, is delighted to work with Parton. Ava grew up musical. Dolly is timeless and a great songwriter, so she likes her.
Ava’s Post Malone, Ariana Grande, and Lizzo tastes impress Sambora. His next concert may be Taylor Swift. My son made me a Swiftie for years. Her persistence despite Ticketmaster’s collapse is admirable. A celebration!”
