Eagles Center Jason Kelce Is Slimming Down, Embracing Tv Role And Enjoying Life After Football

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is embracing a new chapter in life, shifting from the gridiron to the spotlight in the media world.

Known for his larger-than-life personality, Kelce’s transition into television was almost inevitable.

As he joins ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown broadcast team, fans are eager to see his candid insights and humor bring fresh energy to sports analysis.

Kelce’s media journey began long before his retirement from the NFL. Throughout his 13-year career, the six-time All-Pro center was a go-to source for reporters, known for his eloquence and deep understanding of the game. Now, he’s putting those skills to use in his post-football career, taking on media roles while also co-hosting the popular New Heights podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce.

Reflecting on the Eagles’ challenges last season, Kelce’s analysis is as sharp as ever. “When you lose that many games in a row, it’s never just one person or one area,” Kelce told the Associated Press. He pointed to the team’s lack of cohesion after losing key coordinators and the balance between simplifying strategies versus overcomplicating them. Despite a rocky season, Kelce remains optimistic about the team’s direction, praising the talent and potential for a strong comeback.

Kelce, who recently retired after an illustrious career, has no plans to return to the field. Having slimmed down from his playing weight of 295 pounds to 275, with a goal of reaching 260, Kelce is fully focused on his next chapter. “They’re not going to call me to come back and play center at 260 pounds,” he joked, expressing confidence in his successor, Cam Jurgens, to fill his shoes.

Beyond football and TV, Kelce is also enjoying life with his family and diving into exciting business ventures. From partnering with General Mills to create the unique Kelce Mix Cereal, which combines his favorite childhood cereals, to enjoying time with his three daughters and attending Taylor Swift concerts, Kelce’s post-football life is as dynamic as his career on the field.

With his engaging personality, media opportunities, and a growing array of projects, Jason Kelce is proving that life after football can be just as fulfilling as his time dominating the NFL trenches.
