Eagles two-time All-Pro reveals Jason Kelce hasn’t quite left the nest just yet

Jason Kelce decided to hang up his cleats after the 2023 season, but it seems he isn’t ready to leave the Philadelphia Eagles facility just yet.

The former center made it clear that he’s an Eagle for life, and even his wife, Kylie Kelce, agrees. She refuses to wear any other team’s gear, simply just wearing red during the Kansas City Chiefs playoff run to support her brother-in-law Travis Kelce. If she’s wearing anything with an NFL logo on it, it’s always for Philadelphia.

So when speaking on Up & Adams, Lane Johnson revealed something very telling about Jason Kelce when asked if he could see the former Eagles center coaching in his future.

“Most definitely,” the Eagles offensive tackle said. “He was in the building maybe more than a lot of players this offseason.”usatsi_21828719
“He was in there lifting,” Johnson added. “He would be stretching, he would be talking. I think he was kind of seeking advice from people and opinions about his future. He was in the building a lot.”

However, as for now, Jason will be taking his talents to television. The Eagles legend is set to be joining ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” this upcoming season.

He tested the waters in Week 10 during the Eagles’ bye week in 2023, appearing on Amazon Primes’ “Thursday Night Football” as a guest analyst. Jason looked like a natural, so moving to television seems like a natural fit.

“It was an unbelievable experience,” Kelce said on the ‘New Heights’ podcast of his TNF appearance. “Shoutout to Amazon, really just honored that they let me do that and be a part of the broadcast.'”

But you can never rule out a coaching career in the future.

Jason Kelce makes it official
Following the news, ESPN released a a statement, saying it is official, with Kelce having signed a multi-year deal.

Kelce will join Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, Adam Schefter and Michelle Beisner-Buck on Monday Night Countdown. And he will come back on during halftime with Scott Van Pelt and Ryan Clark.

“Turns out, it was a short retirement! I’m excited to join ESPN, and particularly the Monday Night Countdown team. ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports. To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment. And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football,” Kelce said in a statement via ESPN.

An older video of Kelce discussing the dos and don’ts of blocking in football with professional bodybuilder John Meadows went viral back in March.

Meadows has since passed away but his Mountain Diet YouTube channel still posts videos to keep his legacy alive.

This specific video of Meadows shows just how natural Kelce is when it comes to teaching a technique.
