The seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, is the best driver in the history of F1 in terms of stats. He has moved to Ferrari from 2025 onwards but this has led to several people casting doubt over his abilities at the vast age of 39 years old.
The latest to join this ever-growing list of esteemed personnel is the former Ferrari F1 driver Felipe Massa. He feels that Lewis Hamilton‘s vast age could prove to be his Achilles heels during his stint with the Maranello-based team.
Massa dwelled on the same in detail and had the following the add.
Hamilton is currently the second-oldest driver on the grid behind two-time world champion Fernando Alonso. Moreover, the former will have to go up against the prolific Charles Leclerc (27) at Ferrari from 2025 onwards. This could pose major problems to Hamilton.
Ex-F1 team owner already asking Ferrari to ‘close the book’ on Lewis Hamilton
While Felipe Massa sees Lewis Hamilton’s age as a problem for Ferrari, the Ex-F1 team owner Eddie Jordan has also come up with a strong remark. He believes it will be in the best interest of the Fred Vasseur-led team to get rid of the Brit.
In light of this, Jordan made some extremely strong remarks.
Hamilton is at the back-end of his career at the pinnacle of motor racing. He has achieved unprecendeted success in the sport but has not had the best of times in the recent years. During the 2024 F1 season, he was simply outclassed by his Mercedes teammate George Russell. Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, 2025 could prove to be a make or break year for the 39-year-old.
