Since officially joining the royal family upon her marriage to Prince William, Princess Catherine has enjoyed enviable popularity ratings.
Royal fans pour over her every look, and when she announced in a touching video message that she had finally finished chemotherapy after a scary and incredibly tough 9 months, support poured in for the future Queen across the globe.
When the Prince and Princess of Wales unveiled their heartwarming new video, it was surprising to see that it was shot by a videographer who had previously worked on their equally glossy behind-the-scenes coronation video last year.
As a friend of Prince William and Catherine said, the family-centric tone is meant to be the reset of all resets and a solid insight into what we can expect when their time comes as head of the monarchy.
Earlier this year, the Princess underwent surgery and announced that she was facing a battle with cancer. In addition, she has again had to deal with persistent rumors of infidelity on the part of her husband, Prince William. Although Hanbury categorically denied any relationship through her lawyers, speculation continues on social media about this and other dramas in Catherine’s life. Despite these alleged taunts, Catherine didn’t let them affect her relationship or self-esteem. Insiders noted that she has always ignored the mean-spirited comments, maintaining her composure and dignity.
“This is Catherine and William as they mean to go on. It’s family first, and they ignore the haters, ignore the press, ignore Harry and Meghan. It helps that they actually are like this,” the insider continued. “If you go to a kid’s birthday party at their house, they will be the ones organizing games for all the kids, whereas the rest of us would happily get an entertainer and be drinking wine in the kitchen.”
The videographer has said in the past that it was wonderful, an honor, and a privilege to work with the Princess, with whom he’s collaborated on a number of initiatives. In December, William was on hand as she highlighted the important work of the volunteers of the UK baby banks. In the months prior, he had joined the Waleses in Singapore to film content for the Earthshot Prize. William has also worked on shooting footage for the coronation, as well as for the Prince and Princess of Wales’s 10-year anniversary back in 2022.
Meanwhile, Princess Catherine’s commitment to her three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—has been reflected in the causes she has dedicated herself to through her royal work, namely improving early years development across the UK. A hands-on parent, her relatively normal middle-class upbringing is said to have impacted her approach to her royal role and her focus on her own family behind closed doors.
Another friend, a Brownie pack leader who knew her when she was a child, summed up what she was like in her youth with three simple words that speak volumes about who she has become as the Princess of Wales. Even as a child, the future Queen had a chilled-out, down-to-earth attitude and was just like all the other kids taking part in the group. June Scutter used three words to describe her that summed up how she would later approach her high-profile royal role: “She was quite easygoing.” She and her sister Pippa were just ordinary children, nothing different from any others.
This normality, experts claim, has helped the Princess enormously as she built a life inside the institution of the monarchy. William’s greatest wish has always been to build a normal, happy family, and in his wife, he found the perfect partner. Her character and personality were defined by her own upbringing, the strength of her mother, and the support and steadiness of her father, as well as her relationship with her brother and sister.
Furthermore, royal expert, author, and journalist Katie Nicholl has previously echoed these sentiments, noting that the active role of Catherine’s mother, Carole, has helped the Prince and Princess of Wales maintain a sense of normality in their home for their three children. One thing that allows the Waleses to be so ordinary is the presence of the Middletons in their lives. Carole turns up to help with bedtime and bath time, and she’s absolutely indispensable.
