Martin Brundle asserted that Ferrari will give Lewis Hamilton a brief timeline to get in form in the upcoming season.
Lewis Hamilton has finally joined Scuderia Ferrari. The seven-time world champion arrives at the Italian team after a couple of underwhelming campaigns at Mercedes.
Though, F1 presenter Martin Brundle reckons that the Scuderia won’t give the Briton a lot of time to get back in form.
The Formula 1 icon made his on-track debut in red this week. Lewis Hamilton has greeted his new team, including Enzo Ferrari‘s son Piero Ferrari. Now, the focus of the seven-time world champion will shift towards his first season with the Prancing Horse.
Martin Brundle made it clear that there is no scope for excuses in Formula 1, where even rookies can’t hide. The F1 pundit insisted that Ferrari would expect Hamilton to be right on pace within the first two or three races of the season. The 40-year-old will need to match teammate Charles Leclerc.
There are no excuses at this level for anybody, even the rookies. Somebody like Lewis, they will expect him within two or three races to have aced the people around him and the car.

Ferrari might be ahead of rivals in 2025
The 2025 season could witness a close contest at the front of the grid. Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari all won a few races last year. Brundle indicated that the Italian team is believed to have made the biggest step forward over the winter break. This could create the perfect opportunity for Lewis Hamilton.
At the moment, the feeling is Ferrari might have improved the car a little bit more than say McLaren or others.

Though, such claims can only be tested once all cars hit the track. Teams often hide their progress to prevent any leak of their innovations. As such, Hamilton and Ferrari cannot get comfortable until they deliver results from the season opener in Melbourne.
