Ferrari boss Fred Vsseur has backed Lewis Hamilton after his terrible three-day outing at the Qatar GP weekend.
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has shared his thoughts on Lewis Hamilton‘s recent performance at the Qatar GP. Hamilton finished P12 on Sunday after starting his 57-lap race from sixth place on the grid.
Lewis Hamilton has been an inconsistent performer ever since the start of the current campaign. Despite winning twice and securing five podiums, the Brit has not been at all reliable for the Brackley-based team.
The 39-year-old will join Ferrari next season, but his departure has raised doubts in the minds of many.
However, Fred Vasseur has called for calm by citing Hamilton’s performance at the recent Las Vegas GP. Vasseur feels that the Brit has not lost his edge as he finished P2 after starting P10 on the grid in Vegas.

Hamilton appeared frustrated and clueless about his performance after the Qatar GP. All that he wishes now is to perform well in his last race for the Silver Arrows before starting a new era with the Maranello-based team.
Lewis Hamilton makes grim prediction ahead of final race for Mercedes
Mercedes could not manage to win from pole position despite showing promising pace throughout the Qatar GP weekend. Ahead of the final race at Abu Dhabi, Lewis Hamilton has laid down his predictions for the team.
Hamilton feels that his team will not be able to make any proper increments in their performance in Abu Dhabi. The 39-year-old is nevertheless determined to deliver his best run with hopes of a turnaround next weekend.
I don’t think we’re going to end up in a high. It will end, and I think what’s important is how we turn up, we give it our best shot. I don’t anticipate a particularly much better weekend than we’ve had in the past weekends, but naturally I’ll try. Go in with low hopes and maybe come out with a better result. It doesn’t really make a big difference either way, these last races for me don’t have an impact on everything.
