In Men’s Health’s December cover story, Powell, who is 35 years old,

talked about becoming more famous since Top Gun: Maverick did really well at the box office.

He also talked about filming a new romantic comedy, Anyone But You, with Sweeney, who is 26, in Australia.

Powell broke up with his girlfriend Gigi Paris around the same time they were filming the movie. This made people think that Powell and Sweeney might be dating off-screen.

“When all that stuff happened publicly, it felt confusing and unfair,” Powell said. “But I’m realizing that it’s just part of being in this job now.”

Anyone But You is about Sweeney and Powell’s characters, Bea and Ben, who are not into each other at first but end up pretending to be a couple at a destination wedding in Australia.

Sweeney is still engaged to her fiancé Jonathan Davino, who she has been with since 2018. They confirmed their engagement in February 2022.

Sweeney said in August that she and Powell don’t really care about the rumors. “It’s a rom-com. That’s what people want!” she said. “We have so much fun together, and we respect each other. He works hard, and I work hard.”

Sweeney even wished Powell a happy 35th birthday in October with a photo that seemed to be from the movie’s set. She called him her “fellow camp counselor, adventure extraordinaire, and goofball.”

Powell and Sweeney are directed by Will Gluck in Anyone But You. The movie also has Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barnet, and Rachel Griffiths.
