Jamie Lynn Spears is giving insight into the part of her unconventional childhood
she spent on set of The Mickey Mouse Club.
The Zoey 101 alum, 32, opened up about the budding stars she met as a tot during her sister

“He’s a lovely person in real life,” Jamie Lynn said of her relationship with Ryan Gosling. “When I was younger I grew up around him because he was on The Mickey Mouse Club with my sister. Him, my sister, Justin [Timberlake], Christina [Aguilera]… all of them were on The Mickey Mouse Club. Justin and JC [from NSYNC].”

After her costar Josie Gibson remarked about her “very normal” disposition despite her “very different childhood,” Jamie Lynn shared that she and her family “lived at Disney World for a couple of summers” while her sister had a role on the show.
“I was like 3 or 4 and I was causing hell,” Jamie Lynn said while describing her behavior on set. “I was really bad.”
The Nickelodeon star recalled her parents putting her in a “little dress” to make a “good impression” with the studio executives.

“I’m there at the stage, on my mama’s hip,” she said before sharing how Britney introduced her to the cast and crew. “‘This is Jamie Lynn, my little sister,’ and I went, ‘I just farted’. They were like, ‘It never mattered where we were, you always said something to make everyone uncomfortable.’”
She added, “I think it’s something I still do now. As a child you don’t know [how] to filter yourself. And now I know how to be direct, but with a filter, if that makes any sense. But as a kid I was just very direct with no filter.”
In an excerpt of her new memoir, The Woman in Me, Britney, 41, opened about her time on The Mickey Mouse Club and the early connection she made with Timberlake before the two went on to date.
“Being in the show was boot camp for the entertainment industry: extensive dance rehearsals, singing lessons, acting classes, time in the recording studio, and school in between,” Spears wrote, who appeared on the show from 1993. “The Mouseketeers quickly split into our own cliques, divided by the dressing rooms that we shared: Christina Aguilera and I were the younger kids, and we shared a dressing room. We looked up to the older kids–Keri Russell, Ryan Gosling, and Tony Lucca, who I thought was so handsome. And I quickly connected with a boy named Justin Timberlake.”

“[Once] at a sleepover, we played Truth or Dare, and someone dared Justin to kiss me,” she writes. “A Janet Jackson song was playing in the background as he leaned in and kissed me.”
The “Circus” singer also reveals in The Woman in Me that while the show was “unbelievably fun,” it also was “exceptionally hard work,” with the kids expected to practice choreography and routines “thirty times in a day.”
Though their relationship began to bloom behind the scenes on The Mickey Mouse Club, the duo didn’t begin dating until 1999. They eventually split in 2002.
