Jason Kelce wore a beret when he appeared on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” ahead of the Pro Football Hall of Game on Thursday.

Following his retirement from a legendary playing career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce signed with ESPN as he begins his next chapter as a member of NFL broadcasting. Riding the wave of momentum to stardom on the back of his popular ‘New Heights’ podcast with brother Travis, Kelce was reportedly chased by numerous networks to join a broadcast team for the 2024 NFL season.

Earlier this offseason, ESPN announced Kelce – who made his television debut in Week 10 of the 2023 NFL season – Kelce made his interest in TV broadcasting known when he tested the waters during the Eagles’ Week 10 bye week in 2023 and appeared on Amazon Prime’s “Thursday Night Football” show as a guest analyst.

While it’s not Monday night, the first preseason football game for the 2024 season kicks off on Thursday. Ahead of the clash between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans on Thursday, Kelce joined NFL Countdown by rocking his headwear from the Paris Olympics.

“I’m still on Paris time, so I had to go with the Paris headdress,” Kelce said. The NFL legend and his wife Kylie were recently in Paris to support Team USA at the Olympics, which is where Kelce originally donned the beret.

Fans will be happy to see what fun outfits Kelce will wear throughout the season. Even Garage Beer, a product that the Kelce brothers co-own, poked fun at the fashion choice on social media, claiming it was a “beeret”.

Alongside joining Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, Adam Schefter, and Michelle Beisner-Buck on Monday Night Countdown, Kelce will also make appearances on Super Bowl studio coverage as well as ESPN’s coverage of the 2027 Super Bowl. The 36-year-old won Super Bowl LII with the Eagles, missing out on a second ring when Philadelphia fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.
