The seven-time Pro Bowler said exercising makes him a “better person” for himself and his family, and confirmed that professional athletes need to be on a regimen.
Jason Kelce has revealed his wife, Kylie, enforced a specific rule in their marriage to keep him and the family in check.
During an interview on Green Light with Chris Long that was released on Friday, the former Philadelphia Eagles center claimed Kylie wants him to work out three days a week so that she can “deal” with him.
Kelce and Long were chatting about the benefits of exercise on the body, which led the Super Bowl-winning champ to explain why his wife pushes for him to stay in shape.
“She just implemented this, but she said I have to work out a minimum of three days a week; otherwise, she doesn’t want to deal with me,” said Kelce. Long added that football players are used to a “certain amount of physical activity” that affects their dopamine and how they feel throughout the day. According to Long, if he doesn’t exercise, he’s “tough to deal with,” and Kelce couldn’t agree more.
“That’s why she’s implemented this rule, and when I’ve worked out, I am in a great mood,” Kelce continued. “I interact well at home with my kids and I just am a better person. When I don’t work out, I think part of it, like you’re saying, like, you feel like you’re not really being productive for the day, like you’re missing something.”
Kelce and his wife have been married since 2018 and have three children. They’ve spoken about the possibility of having a fourth child. Even though they’re not rushing into having one just yet, they’re prepared just in case.
“We’re rotating through clothes we bought for our first daughter now to our youngest, so we have gone through a lot of hand-me-downs,” Kylie told The Strategist last month. “The Hanna Anderson PJs last forever. We still have some packed up, just in case there ends up being a fourth.”
