Kate Middleton’s next public appearance is expected to be at Remembrance Sunday on November 10 as the Princess of Wales takes to the Cenotaph in London to remember the fallen through war.
The 42-year-old is currently recovering from the impact of chemotherapy, which weakens immune systems and strength, after it was revealed that she beat cancer in September 2024 following a diagnosis in January.
The future Queen Consort appeared at the Wimbledon Championships and the Trooping the Color events in the United Kingdom over the summer, in encouraging news for royalist enthusiasts, and according to an ex-butler, Paul Burrell, her next appearance should be at the 11th hour.
“I think that you will see [Kate] at the Cenotaph in November,” Burrell told Slingo. “A tribute to those who died in all conflict. That is an occasion she would want to go to which people would want to see her at.
“But there aren’t many occasions through the rest of the year, other than the Diplomatic Reception of Buckingham Palace, which is the biggest night of the year for the royals, where every room of Buckingham Palace is used and every diplomat in London attends.”
What is Remembrance Sunday?
The National Service of Remembrance began after the conclusion of World War I in 1918 and is an annual event in which ex-serviceman, the public and other key figures of British society gather to pay their respects.
The event takes place on the closest Sunday to November 11, when the First World War came to wan end, whilst a separate moment of remembrance also takes place on the 11th too.
People traditionally wear red poppies to symbolize memory of the fallen before The Last Post is played, followed by two minutes’ of observed silence to allow people to reflect on the horrors of war. It is most similar to Memorial Day in the United States.
Members of the public are also invited to make donations to the Royal British Legion, a charity that aims to support former-military personnel as well as their families both within and outside of the United Kingdom.
