In a shocking turn of events, actress and singer Kiki Palmer has
filed a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson,
and is seeking full custody of their 8-month-old son, Leotus.
The court documents reveal harrowing details of physical and emotional abuse that Kiki alleges
she endured during their two-year relationship.
The news broke after an incident on November 5th when Darius allegedly broke into Kiki’s home and physically attacked her. In the court documents obtained by US Weekly, Kiki stated that security footage from the incident showed Darius trespassing into her home without consent, threatening her, and physically assaulting her, including lunging for her neck, throwing her over a couch, and stealing her phone.
This recent incident is not the first time Kiki has accused Darius of abuse. In the court filing, she detailed multiple instances of violence, including the destruction of her personal property, physical attacks, and threatening behavior. Kiki also expressed concern for the safety of her son, citing Darius’s violent and volatile nature.
Disturbing security footage obtained by Radar Online shows Darius physically attacking Kiki on November 5th. The stills from the footage depict Darius slamming Kiki over a couch and seemingly choking her before leaving with her phone. The police were reportedly called during the incident, advising Kiki to file for a restraining order.
Kiki’s court filing describes incidents of physical and emotional abuse, including an episode in February when Darius allegedly choked and body-slammed her over a perceived insult. Screenshots of security camera footage from these incidents were submitted as evidence.
This revelation comes three months after Darius publicly shamed Kiki on Twitter for her choice of outfit at Usher’s concert, sparking concerns about his controlling behavior. At the time, social media users recognized red flags in Darius’s comments, predicting that his issues might escalate.
Darius’s history of controversial statements and behavior is not new. His ex-girlfriend, Taylor Marie, previously accused him of pressuring her into having an abortion before he began dating Kiki. Additionally, Darius has a track record of defending controversial positions, including supporting police brutality and expressing support for other domestic violence offenders.
The situation took another dark turn when Kiki’s mother, Sharon, revealed that she had informed Darius’s brother, Serunas, about Darius’s abusive behavior over a year ago. In a video statement, Sharon expressed disappointment in Serunas’s defense of his brother and accused him of teaching Darius how to be abusive.
As the story unfolds, it raises important questions about domestic violence, accountability, and the importance of recognizing warning signs in relationships. The allegations against Darius Jackson have prompted discussions on social media about the prevalence of abuse and the need for a cultural shift towards supporting victims.
The court will now review the evidence and consider Kiki Palmer’s request for a restraining order and custody of her son. The case has ignited conversations about the larger issue of domestic violence, especially within high-profile relationships, and highlights the importance of listening to and believing survivors.
