Las Vegas GP fish and chips price so high F1 fans are convinced Gordon Ramsay must cook them

Fans who travelled to the Las Vegas Grand Prix were charged a staggering $24 for fish and chips. The high price of food at the Formula 1 event has sparked debate on social media, with one fan joking it must have been cooked by Gordon Ramsay himself.

The event got underway on Friday, with practice beginning in treacherous conditions as the Las Vegas Strip Circuit was drenched by persistent afternoon rainfall. Supporters also faced eye‑watering food prices at the venue.

One fan, who took to X (formerly Twitter), shared a picture of the English menu, which listed $24 for fish and chips and $10 for sticky toffee pudding.

As the caption, he wrote: “Welp! No more complimentary food at the Vegas GP.”Có thể là hình ảnh về văn bản

Replying to the post, one commented: “$24 for fish and chips??? They got Gordon Ramsay out there cooking for them??” That’s before another added: “Look at ’em, London prices.”

A third continued: “Those Fish and Chips better come straight out of the King’s personal kitchen,” before another claimed: “Honestly, not as bad as I expected. About on par with the last time I went to an NBA game.”

The inflated prices extended to Australian food – with a meat pie costing $24. That’s while Chinese noodles were priced at $20 and pork chow mein at $22.

On the track, it wasn’t a particularly strong start for Lewis Hamilton either, as the worsening conditions made the already low‑grip surface difficult for many drivers to handle.

The Englishman, who was one of the affected by the torrential rain, saw his session end far sooner than he would have wanted. The F1 star struggled to find any speed, leaving him at the bottom of the timesheets and eliminated in the opening part of qualifying.

Speaking to reporters, including Mirror Sport, he said the conditions were “probably” the worst he had ever seen over his long F1 career. “That’s definitely the slipperiest it has been, plus I couldn’t get the tyres working,” Hamilton said.

“The car was feeling great in FP3 and I honestly thought I was going to do well, I was really excited and thought that finally we would have a good day, but it wasn’t to be.

“[Visibility] was as bad as it gets. I couldn’t see anything – I hit a bollard at one point, I just couldn’t see the corner.

“It feels horrible, it doesn’t feel good. But all I can do, I’ve just got to let it go and try to come back tomorrow… This year is definitely the hardest year.

“We’ve got a really good car. It will be really hard to come back from 20th.”
