Most people share a deep love for Lewis Hamilton due to the latter’s personality and performances in Formula 1. Hamilton is an amazing person who responds similarly to all his lovers and fans.
Amongst the sea of supporters, legendary woman racer Mary McGee also supported the Briton. However, following McGee’s sad demise, the 39-year-old paid tribute to the late legend.
Mary McGee was notably the first woman in the world to participate in racing. Moreover, McGee closely followed Formula 1 and supported Lewis Hamilton on the track. The American racing pioneer was also present at the 2024 Canadian GP, donning her support for Hamilton in the race. However, McGee sadly passed away on 27 November, with the cause of death still being unknown.
Lewis Hamilton took to Instagram and paid an emotional tribute to Mary McGee. The 39-year-old claimed that he was deeply saddened to find out about the death of the lady legend. Hamilton paid condolences to the family members of McGee and others she inspired. The seven-time world champion noted that the American’s legacy will live on as a trailblazer in the world of motorsports.
I’m deeply saddened to hear that Mary McGee, the first woman to road race motorcycles in the U.S and the first person to solo the Baja 500 has passed on. My condolences to her family and everyone who she’s inspired. Her legacy will live on as a trailblazer in the world of Motorsports and beyond.

Mary McGee defied all odds and gender norms and became one highly achieved woman in the motorsport industry. As a result, McGee had a documentary being created regarding her career. Lewis Hamilton played a role in the documentary when he met the American legend. Hamilton claimed that he had the ‘honor’ to meet McGee and support a documentary about the latter’s ‘incredible journey.’
