With the full release of this year’s player ratings for the upcoming release of EA Sports’ Madden 25 video game, players around the league who are a part of the exclusive “99 Club” have received gifts.
While it is an exclusive club, as only five players have earned a 99 overall for this year’s Madden, two of them are members of the Kansas City Chiefs. Those two Chiefs are quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, who both opened their newest package from EA Sports.
It seems EA Sport went on to personalize each package for their 99 overall players, as Kelce received a special gold microphone that could be used for his “New Heights” Podcast, along with a golden Xbox controller and a plaque.
Meanwhile, Mahomes was given a golden putter, three golf balls, an Xbox controller, and a plaque.

Yes, that is “arch enemy” Jon Gruden at camp all dressed up like he’s suddenly a member of the Chiefs coaching staff.
A Raider as a Chief? Is that allowed?
Well, he’s certainly not willing or able to be a Raider anymore. You know, those awful emails that in 2021 got him drummed out of Las Vegas and out of the NFL?
So, he shows up at Kansas City camp, and some sharp staffer gives him a wardrobe change. And thanks to FOX4 News we have ourselves some eye candy.
Or eye poison, if you will.
AUG 4 – HERBERT SIGHTING – Nothing quite imposes fear into an NFL fanbase like the news of their team’s franchise quarterback going down in training camp with an injury. This is what the Los Angeles Chargers experienced Thursday when Justin Herbert was diagnosed with plantar fascia in his right foot.
However, even with the added news that he is expected to be ready for their season-opener versus the Las Vegas Raiders, his reported sighting in the weight room with rookie receiver Ladd McConkey following this diagnosis got the Kansas City Chiefs’ rivals’ fans excited.
“Yeah, he’s going to be alright …,” one Chargers’ fan wrote on Twitter.
Another told their fellow Chargers fans to simply “relax.”
Sure, there may never be a “good” time to suffer an injury. But if there was one, then Herbert’s could qualify as such for the Chargers. He has the next four weeks to rehab his foot injury before taking the field for their Week 1 AFC West division matchup versus the Raiders.
AUG 3 CHIEFS SIGN SPIVEY Travis Kelce is one of, if not the best tight end in the NFL, but the Kansas City Chiefs have to start facing the fact that he is not going to be around for much longer.
That is exactly the issue that the team addressed when they announced they were signing tight end Geor’Quarius Spivey to their 90-man roster.
Spivey had some solid seasons in college, but the main reason the Chiefs signed him is for some depth behind the aging Kelce. Spivey stands at 6-5 and weighs 240 pounds, so the team could use him in certain scenarios this season.
AUG 2 DAVIS DETAINED AT AIRPORT Former Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis shared on Instagram that he was put into handcuffs after his plane to California landed after a flight attendant claimed the Hall of Fame threatened him.
Davis says that he tapped the flight attendant to ask him if his son could have a cup of water. The attendant then claimed that Davis hit him, and the former running back was put into handcuffs when the plane landed.
“The traumatizing experience of my two sons, my daughter, and my wife watching me being placed in handcuffs—without due process or any explanation—cannot be undone,” Davis said.
The attendant was dismissed from his job after the incident, but the former Hall of Famer will most likely take legal action against United Airlines.
AUG 2 SECRET DB? L’Jarius Sneed has been traded to the Tennessee Titans and Justin Reid has been out injured. So in this camp, second-year defensive back Chamarri Conner has become a name worth knowing.
How important might he be? One national media outlet writes that Conner will be allowing first-team All-Pro Trent McDuffie more freedom in his alignments. In short, much of the Chiefs’ ability to dictate matchups rests with Conner.”
That sounds like a large load. And a name worth knowing.
JULY 30 BOWERS BREAKOUT INCOMING? The Las Vegas Raiders selected Georgia tight end Brock Bowers with the 13th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he could be primed for a breakout in his rookie season.
In a recent article by Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay, he lists five tight ends that could be in the best position for a breakout season. One of the players he mentions is Bowers, as he thinks he could benefit from his team’s new coaching staff.
The Raiders named Antonio Pierce as their full-time head coach after the team saw improvements when he was the interim, and he will be looking to utilize Bowers and the rest of his weapons to try and compete with the Kansas City Chiefs.
JULY 30 SWIFT POSTER IN SUITE The sports world was shocked to see Taylor Swift in a box in Arrowhead Stadium in the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 3 win against the Chicago Bears. She continued to come to games to support her partner, Travis Kelce.
Now, courtesy of some pictures posted by a fan who got to tour Arrowhead, we get an inside look at some of the new decorations in Kelce’s suite.
It’s a little tough to make out at first, but there is a poster of Swift performing on one of the walls in the box that she always sits in. If that is any indication, then football fans and Swifties alike can expect to see her at more and more games this season.

JULY 30 PACHECO TOP 10 RB IN MADDEN EA just released their top 10 running backs in Madden 25, and Kansas City Chiefs breakout back Isiah Pacheco just barely cracks the list.
The 25-year-old comes in at an 87 overall, and that puts him at the No. 10 spot. This is made more impressive by the fact that Pacheco is only entering his third season in the league.
Before his breakout, the Chiefs relied a lot on their passing game to get them wins. But now, Pacheco will be looking to take some pressure off of Patrick Mahomes and help the team win their third straight Super Bowl.
JULY 30 MADDEN In promotion of their upcoming Madden 25 video game, EA Sports has been releasing the top-rated players at each position. The latest was defensive tackle, where without the Los Angeles Rams Aaron Donald, Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones is now the highest-rated player at his position.
Jones earned a 97 overall rating following this past season, where, despite missing the season-opener due to his contract holdout, he totaled 30 tackles, 13 for a loss, 10.5 sacks, and 29 quarterback hits. Even while playing in 16 games, Jones still managed to record the second-most sacks he’d had in a season.
While some may argue that Jones should be a 99, Chiefs fans can take solace in knowing that they can play with the best defensive tackle in the game.
