The Duchess of Sussex, 43, made her dramatic return to Instagram on Wednesday morning, uploading a short clip that showed her frolicking on the beach in an all-white ensemble.
The video, which was seemingly captured by her husband, Prince Harry, began with Meghan facing away from the camera as her hair blew in the wind.
She then wrote ‘2025’ in the sand, before she turned and grinned at the camera before running off.
Immediately, the post attracted the attention of tens of thousands of people and caused a massive frenzy online.
The Duchess of Sussex quickly turned the comments off of the video, but the move was met with a fierce reaction from other social media users.
One person branded has as a ‘coward’ for turning them off, while others praised her.
‘Meghan Markle is still a coward. [She] turned off comments’ one woman snarked on X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘A narcissist always turns the comments off. A girl has got to stay relevant,’ another user chimed in.
Someone else responded to a post that said they hoped Meghan would be able to ‘connect with fans’ on her account.
‘Connect with fans? She disabled the comments,’ they sarcastically wrote with some laughing emojis.
Others, however, were in favor of her turning them off.
‘Thank goodness she’s keeping comments off,’ one user said, while a different person agreed, ‘I’m glad she turned off those comments for peace of mind.’
‘Good on Meghan for turning off the comments on her IG. She doesn’t need any toxicity from weirdos,’ someone else agreed.
The mom-of-two, who wiped all social media after marrying Prince Harry in 2018, simply captioned the short clip ‘@meghan.’
‘Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years, however as she has not used them for some time she has taken the decision to close them,’ a Kensington Palace source said back when she first quit social media in 2018.

In 2020, after they moved to America, Meghan and Harry stopped posting to their Sussex Royal Instagram and Twitter accounts.
The royal couple have frequently spoken out about the abuse they received online, despite continuing to use online media to promote their ‘progressive’ new roles in the US – including most-recently via a podcast on Spotify.
Following her new video, tens of thousands of people followed it in a matter of minutes, ballooning the account from 115,000 fans to almost 400,000 at the time of publishing.
It’s long been rumored the profile belonged to her after the account was set up back in June 2022, but it had no posts up until now.
As well as her first post, the @meghan account also updated its profile picture to a black-and-white shot of Meghan smiling and wearing and elegant white dress.
