Mercedes is reportedly planning a massive farewell for Lewis Hamilton as the driver would personally visit the sponsors and the factories.
Lewis Hamilton‘s shocking late-career switch to Ferrari is still one of the most surprising driver changes on the grid. Hamilton has worked a major chunk of his career with Mercedes and is widely regarded as an out-and-out Silver Arrow. The crew wouldn’t be happy to let the seven-time world champion go off so easily without bidding a proper farewell. Hence, with the season finale inching closer, Brackley has started the preparations for the Grand farewell.
Lewis Hamilton had previously noted that bidding farewell to Mercedes by winning a race would be nice. The Briton left no stone unturned to achieve this feat as he scored two highly coveted race wins, with one being on his home soil. Amidst the ongoing season, Hamilton is set to do a Mercedes farewell tour of multiple places following the culmination of the 2024 season.
According to AMuS (Auto Motor und Sport), Hamilton has planned a visit to the team’s major sponsor Petronas in Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, he will also personally visit the Mercedes-Benz stadium located in Stuttgart apart from other places. The Briton will also go to the factories in Brackley and Brixworth to personally bid farewell to all the employees present behind the curtains.

Lewis Hamilton hoping for the ‘positive’ at the Mexican GP after a dismal US GP outing
The US GP witnessed an extremely disappointing end for Lewis Hamilton as he beached his chassis three laps into the race. Hence, at the upcoming Mexican GP, Hamilton hoped for better results. The Briton hoped that the W15 chassis would be stable around the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit and start racing at the forefront. Although all these situations were a big ‘if’, the 39-year-old still hoped for the best.
The car was unstable last weekend but it was a very bumpy track, [Mexico] is not a bumpy track so hopefully on a smoother circle we won’t have the same problems but if we don’t have the problems we had last week then yeah maybe we can be a little bit closer to the front. It’s all a big if, I’m just hoping for the positive.

With just five races remaining on the 2024 calendar, Hamilton would have to buckle up. The Briton needs to finish ahead of George Russell to truly end the season on a high. Regardless, Mercedes will try their best to make Hamilton extremely proud of his history with the team at the pinnacle of motorsport.
