Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles star, showed up in style at the 2024 American Century Championship, thanks to some last-minute help from his wife, Kylie Kelce.
The 36-year-old made a surprise appearance at the celebrity charity golf tournament held at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, spending a few hours on the driving range on Thursday, July 11th.
A Fashionable Appearance
Dressed in a smart paisley print black top and belted black khakis, Jason looked every bit the part of a golfer ready for the event. However, it was revealed that his polished look was courtesy of Kylie.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), NBC Sports jokingly noted, “@JasonKelce brought khakis for Jason.” This jest is a nod to a humorous exchange from the Kelce brothers’ popular “New Heights” podcast, where Travis Kelce once ribbed Jason for relying on Kylie to pack his clothes.
A Familiar Quip
“Why didn’t Jason bring jeans for Jason?” Travis famously quipped during the podcast after learning that Jason had arrived at the red carpet premiere of his documentary in shorts and flip-flops, blaming Kylie’s late arrival with the jeans.
Maintaining the humorous tone, Jason responded to NBC Sports’ post with, “I mean if I’m being honest, Kylie went out and bought them last minute and packed them for me.” This playful admission underscores the couple’s dynamic and Jason’s reliance on Kylie’s thoughtful assistance.
Family and Competitions
Married since 2018, Jason and Kylie share three daughters: 4-year-old Wyatt, 3-year-old Elliot, and 1-year-old Bennett. Jason’s participation in the tournament places him among other notable athletes and celebrities, including Trevor Lawrence, Alex Rodriguez, Aaron Rodgers, and Josh Allen, as well as stars like Colin Jost, Carson Daly, and Dylan Dreyer.
Podcast Hiatus and Future Plans
Jason’s appearance at the golf tournament comes during a hiatus from the “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Travis. The break coincides with Travis’ commitments to the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp.
“We got a nice couple months off from podcasting because I guess in 3 weeks’ time, Travis will be in the middle of training camp,” Jason shared. He added, “Not enough time to do a podcast, especially the best podcast in the world. He’s going to be busy focusing on football, getting in shape for this upcoming season, so we’re going to be off for about 2 months.”
Travis hinted at resuming the podcast post-training camp, with Jason suggesting that they might return at the end of August after consulting with their producer.
Chiefs Training Camp and Preseason
The Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp kicks off on July 21st, with the first preseason game scheduled for August 10th against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chiefs will also face the Detroit Lions on August 17th and the Chicago Bears on August 22nd before starting their 2024 regular season against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5th at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
Fan Engagement
Fans will have opportunities to interact with the team during the first two days of the Chiefs’ training camp on July 21st and 22nd, with autograph sessions from the full team. Additional autograph opportunities will be available on various dates, including July 27th for the full team and July 28th for wide receivers and tight ends, including Travis Kelce.
As Jason Kelce enjoys his break from podcasting and participates in the golf tournament, he continues to entertain and engage fans, both on and off the field.
