In his early days in F1, Lewis Hamilton boasted about how he was invited by American rapper, P Diddy, for a special dinner.

This took place in 2007, Hamilton’s debut year in F1. Diddy is currently in jail awaiting hearing on the charges laid against him.

At the time, the young British driver was not nearly as famous as he is today. He started his career with McLaren in 2007 and was gradually getting into the world of glamour and fame as a rookie.

In the early 2000s, F1 was becoming quite popular among other pop cultures as a thrilling sport.

Hamilton caught this wave the moment he entered the sport and quickly made several connections with celebrities from different fields.

Speaking during the British GP in 2007, the young Hamilton shared a story of how Diddy contacted him for the first time and invited him to a special dinner party. During the phone call, Hamilton was playing golf near McLaren’s Woking headquarters.

Hamilton then detailed how when he arrived, the American rapper and his other guests were waiting for him. He also raved about Diddy sitting beside him rather than any other high-profile guests of his. Hamilton said (via The Guardian),

“I got a call to say that P Diddy had invited me to a special dinner. When I got there they were waiting for me and I sat down next to P Diddy. Out of all his guests, I was sitting next to him.”
P Diddy is currently facing charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He was arrested in New York on September 16, 2024, and has pleaded not guilty. It has been reported that Diddy hosted several parties where many high-profile celebrities were invited. Some of these parties reportedly had an erotic atmosphere.

As of now, there has not been any confirmation whether the party young Lewis Hamilton was at was a regular or an alleged “freak off” party.

Amid P Diddy’s controversial case and allegations, Lewis Hamilton’s connection to the rapper has been explored by fans. As Hamilton gained a lot of popularity in and out of the motorsport world, he made many high-profile friends in various media and related industries, including the American rapper.

While digging into the Mercedes driver’s connections with Diddy, some fan accounts on X (formerly Twitter) found a tweet from 2018 shared by the seven-time world champion with a picture of him alongside Diddy dressed in all-white. Though Lewis Hamilton deleted the post, a fan had a screenshot, which was recently circulated on social media amid news of the case involving Diddy.

Though Diddy was famous for conducting all-white parties where he and other guests wore white, this particular picture was taken during the 2018 MET Gala, whose theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” The caption of the picture shared by Hamilton was,

“Brothers in white. I grew up watching and listening to my man puff. To stand here today as brothers is a honour and a privilege. I appreciate you bro for all you do, for being a goat and for always showing love. God Bless.”

Apart from this, there has not been any other picture of the two that has surfaced or was posted by Lewis Hamilton.
