They have won three Super Bowls together in a historic run under head coach Andy Reid.
The AFC West winners are going for a three-peat of rings, which would be a first in NFL history.
They must get past the Buffalo Bills this weekend, which would send them to the showpiece in New Orleans.
There has been rumors Kelce will retire at the end of this season, with the tight end suggesting the same.
And Mahomes has opened up on those fears to The Drive with Carrington Harrison on 95.6 radio station.
“If it’s his last game, let’s go out there and get him a win,” said Mahomes.
“If it’s not his last game, let’s go out and win anyway.
“Either way, I appreciate every single time I’ve stepped out onto that field with that guy.
“Knowing that he’s a true legend of not only the Chiefs, the NFL.”
Mahomes revealed Kelce had not given him any indication of a retirement yet.
That is despite the pair being close, and in constant contact.
“I mean, I have no idea,” continued Mahomes.
“He hasn’t said anything to me if he’s thinking that.
“I know he signed a two-year extension before the season.
“He seems like he still loves football, but he also has a great life as well.”
The 15-2 Chiefs take on the Bills on Sunday at 6.30pm ET at Arrowhead Stadium.
Mahomes and Kelce will be looking to continue their legendary combination once again.
However, Josh Allen and the Bills will be eyeing an end to their run, which could be Kelce’s last.
The 35-year-old has a busy life outside of American football.
He is dating pop sensation Taylor Swift, along with business ventures and a acting career.
The Hall of Fame-bound icon finished the regular season on 87 catches and 823 yards.
He also caught three touchdowns.
Kelce still has a year remaining on his two year contract following this campaign.
