Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, general manager Brett Veach is making moves to build a stronger team around quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
As for Mahomes, he sent a clear message about his personal goals after Kansas City whiffed on their shot to win a historic Super Bowl three-peat.
“I’m going to have to find a way this offseason to combat what defenses are doing to me as far as rush lanes and different coverages that they’re playing,” Mahomes told reporters. “That’s the beauty of football — you never can be satisfied with just coming out there and playing and thinking you’re going to have success.
“These defense are going to continue to get better and better, so I have to get better. I take a lot of ownership in that, and I want to hopefully come back and play better football next season.”

While the 29-year-old is dedicated to staying in shape during the break, he’s also excited to spend quality time with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, and their children, Sterling Skye, 4, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, 2, and Golden Raye, 7 weeks.
“Once football season’s over, I’ll be all hands on deck, and I got three of them now, so it’ll be a tough battle for me there, as well,” Mahomes said before the Super Bowl.
Brittany got emotional sharing a new photo of Bronze looking dapper in khakis and a collard shirt on March 6. She posted a picture on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Why does look so grown.🥹😭.”

The three-time Super Bowl MVP cherishes this time with his wife and children. “[During] football season, you take so much time away from those little memories that you have just taking your kids to gym class or whatever it is and taking them to school and stuff like that.
“Whenever I get in the off-season, I try to spend as much time as I can with them and get to see what they do on a day-to-day basis and build those memories with them.”
