Brittany, who has been married to the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback since 2022, sparked a liberal meltdown last month when she liked a Donald Trump post on social media.
The close friends’ opposing political views have triggered fears for what they could mean for their fledgling friendship.
But while his wife and the popstar have dominated headlines with their political differences, Mahomes opted to sit on the fence.

Patrick Mahomes has offered his stance on the presidential election after his wife, Brittany, and close friend Taylor Swift endorsed different candidates
Patrick Mahomes addresses Trump’s reference of his wife Brittany
‘I don’t want my platform to be used to endorse a candidate – either way – I use that to get people registered, do their research and make their best decision for them and their family,’ the quarterback told reporters Wednesday.
‘Every time I get asked these questions, I’m going to refer back to that because I think that’s what makes America so great.’
Taylor and Brittany developed a close friendship last season, as their partners led the Kansas City Chiefs all the way to the Super Bowl once more.
But amid their stances on opposite sides of the American political spectrum, fears of a rift grew when they sat in different luxury suites for the Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
Yet, despite courting controversy, Brittany and Taylor dispelled any rumors of bad blood when the Mahomeses joined the songstress and Kelce at the US Open Sunday.
A source exclusively told DailyMail.com that they ‘respect that they have different views’ and have made a ‘pact’ to avoid discussing politics last month and the couples appeared to be nothing but friendly as they soaked up the on-court action.
And Mahomes insisted that the ability to put politics aside and work across the aisle is something the nation should foster.
‘Dating back, if you see my history, I’ve been running with people from every aspect of life and every background,’ he added.

Last year, Swift and Mahomes were inseparable at games, always sitting near each other
‘I think the best thing about a football locker room is that people can come together and achieve a common goal. I think that if we can do that as a nation, we can get the best out of each other.
‘Around other people I don’t think about political views I think about how they treat people and I was with a lot of great people this weekend.’
Harris walked off stage to Swift’s 2019 hit ‘The Man’ at a post-debate watch party in Philadelphia while Swiftie-style friendship bracelets went on sale on her campaign’s website Tuesday night as the popstar confirmed: ‘I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election .’
She explained that the Vice President ‘fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.’
Swift added: ‘I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.
‘I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate (Walz), who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades. I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice.’
Swift’s social media statement came days after she was taken to task by Swifties for cozying up to Brittany at the US Open, despite her support for Trump.
Eagle-eyed Instagram users caught the soon-to-be mother of three liking a Trump post mapping out 16 of his policies to his 26.3million followers; ranging from topics on immigration to the economy.
The like generated plenty of outrage amongst liberals on social media, and Brittany appeared to hit out at her critics in a fiery response.

Brittany later hit back at her critics, saying there’s no reason their brains are ‘fully developed’
‘I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,’ she wrote Friday night.
‘There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well,’ she added.
Even before Taylor publicly endorsed Harris, Brittany’s Trump-liking rampage stoked rumors that the singer – a known liberal who publicly accused Trump of ‘stoking white supremacy’ in 2020 – would ditch her fellow Chiefs WAG.
However, it appears Brittany won’t be facing any bad Karma for her social media activity from her famous pal with the songstress seemingly able to shake it off.
