And Meghan Markle has “no intention of returning” to England.
Some of the biggest events on the royal family’s calendar are in the summer, including the annual Trooping the Colour and Royal Ascot horse races (not to mention a royal wedding).
Those big-ticket events, which include personal appearances from the royals, and all the attention that come with them could be giving Prince Harry the feels.
According to Tom Quinn, royal expert and author of Gilded Youth An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, the prince is feeling “nostalgic” for his old life across the pond. Speaking to The Mirror, Quinn explained that Harry wants to spend more time in England, but Meghan Markle has made it clear that she won’t be returning to the U.K.
“Prince Harry wants to spend more time in the U.K., but he knows he is going to have to do it alone,” Quinn shared. “Meghan has publicly stated that she has no intention of returning to England. This puts Harry in a really difficult position if any kind of positive relationship is to be re-established with his family.”

Quinn also spoke about Harry’s relationship with his friends, saying that he misses his military pals and that the reality of being so far away from home is settling in now that the “honeymoon period” of his big move to California has faded.
“After the excitement of moving to the U.S., the honeymoon period is now over and Harry is beginning to find time hangs heavy for him—he is increasingly nostalgic for much of his old life back in the U.K.,” he said. “For all his problems with his family, he always loved his military and school friends and he misses them.”

The royal insider’s comments come after news broke that Harry and Meghan once had a secret property in the Cotswolds and would often entertain and host their friends there, away from the prying eyes of the public and the paparazzi in London. They stayed at the country property while Frogmore Cottage was getting remodeled and in his memoir, Spare, Harry did mention that he considered the cottage to be his “forever home,” until it wasn’t.
“Once upon a time, this was going to be my forever home. Instead, it had proved to be just another brief stop,” he wrote.
Meghan Markle Tipped To Turn Her Diaries Into Explosive New Book To Rock Royal Family, Filmmaker Ulrike Grunewald Who Is Behind A Controversial New Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Documentary Has Suggested
EXCLUSIVE: Filmmaker Ulrike Grunewald who is behind a controversial new Prince Harry and Meghan Markle documentary has suggested that the Duchess of Sussex may have a hard time convincing the British public that what she writes is true.

Meghan Markle could soon release a book compiling her diary entries during her time in Britain, according to a filmmaker behind a controversial new Prince Harry and Meghan Markle documentary.
Ulrike Grunewald, who is working on ‘Harry – the lost Prince’ which is due to air on the ZDF network in Germany in December, has suggested that the British public won’t believe a word Meghan Markle writes.
“We know that Meghan kept a diary during her days in Great Britain but if she writes a book about it will people believe what she is telling?” said Grunewald.

“I remember vividly the impact of Princess Diana‘s [book and] Panorama interview in 1995. It did more harm to her than to the Royal Family in the end. It is still the same: the most damaging allegations can only come from within.
“With the Sussexes there is always the feeling of a missed opportunity on both sides – for them being successful working royals within the system and for the Royal Family to present a more modern face that appeals to a younger audience.”
Grunewald told Express.co.uk recently that shock revelations about the Royal family only ever come out of the Sussexes’ mouths.
“Harry – the lost Prince will look into one of the most heartbreaking periods of the Royal Family since the abdication of Edward VIII in 1936,” said Grunewald.
“The most damaging allegations can only come from within. Revelations that shock the Royal Family only come out of Prince Harry‘s or Meghan Markle‘s mouths.
“She [Meghan] might be embarrassed about the amount of criticism she now gets even in communities that used to back her after the decision to leave the Royal Family as a working member.”
Grunewald and her team have recently been filming for the project in California, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex live with their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
The team behind the project are renowned in Germany for exposing secrets on the British Royal Family and recently aired a special on ‘Princess Kate and The Drama of the Windsors’ on ZDF in Germany.
“We spoke to people in the US – in California and in New York,” said Grunewald.
“At the moment it is hard to see any big achievement of their Archewell Foundation who claims to work for the improvement of communities.
“But there are still voices who see the high potential of the couple not only for the British monarchy but also for a liberal society.”
