King Charles will not strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles for one major reason, according to an expert.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, were bestowed the titles by the late Queen Elizabeth II at the time of their wedding.
Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, now reside in California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The pair stepped down as senior working royals at the start of 2020.
Speaking about Meghan’s choice to share that she uses her ‘Sussex’ title as her family name in her new Netflix series, royal expert Phil Dampier said: “I doubt King Charles would like Meghan making references to the importance of Sussex as her name but I’ve always felt he’s reluctant to start any process of stripping her and Harry of their titles.”
Discussing why the King may be “reluctant” about making the decision, he said that it may be down to the wish to, one day, heal the bitter rift with his youngest son.
