Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce confirmed their budding romance in September 2023, when the singer showed up to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs tight end at a home game at Missouri’s Arrowhead Stadium. The move came months after Kelce first publicly expressed interest in Swift, after attending one of her concerts.
Ahead, see everything we know about their relationship so far.
August 2, 2024: Travis’s rep shuts down engagement rumors.
After a source for Page Six claimed that Kelce and Swift were getting engaged “soon,” the NFL star’s rep officially (and for the first time ever) set the record straight, saying there are not “any official engagement plans in place.”
June 30, 2024: Taylor reacts to seeing Travis at her Dublin show.
The singer has the purest reaction to spotting her boyfriend in the audience at her final Eras Tour show in Dublin.
As seen in concert footage posted on X (formerly Twitter), Swift’s face lights all the way up after she sees Kelce in the VIP tent while she’s singing “August.” She smiles from ear to ear and then continues her performance with extra excitement.
The three-time Super Bowl winner’s appearance at the concert comes as a surprise, because just the night before, he attended teammate Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s wedding in California—which means that immediately after the ceremony, Kelce jumped on a flight to Ireland (traveling over 5,000 miles) to catch Swift’s final performance. A real-life rom-com.
June 24, 2024: Travis reveals the moment he fell for Taylor.
Remember when Swift hard-launched her relationship with the Chiefs tight end by making an appearance—and hanging out in a VIP suite with his family and friends—when his team played the Chicago Bears in Kansas City? So does Kelce, and in fact, in a new episode of the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast, he reveals that was the moment he began to fall for the “Lover” singer.
“The first game she came to against the Bears. I was like, ‘Okay, so, I could probably set you up with everything … ’ And she just walked right through the front door,” he recalls. “There’s no going down, talking to security, making sure that she gets to her—she was just like, ‘I just want to be around the family and friends, and experience this with everybody.’ She got beaucoup points for that. I was like, ‘Damn, she’s in the madness. She wants to be a part of it. She wants to support me and do things like that.’ She really won me over with that one.”
Kelce also describes how the musical superstar supported him at the 2024 Super Bowl, where he and the Chiefs came out as national champions. “She’s very self-aware,” he says. “She understands situations like that, and I think that’s why I started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends, family. It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention. She just keeps it so chill and so cool.”
Elsewhere in the podcast, Kelce brings up his and Swift’s decision to love one another openly, and in the public eye. “You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything, you know? That’s my girl. That’s my lady,” he says of her. “So, it’s like, I’m proud of that. I’m not sitting here trying to juggle, ‘How can I keep this under wraps?’ You just don’t want to let everybody into your personal life and be able to to comment, knowing that everything she does is getting a headline.”
June 23, 2024: Travis joins Taylor onstage at a London Eras Tour show.
After months of hanging out in the VIP section, Kelce makes a surprise cameo onstage at one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts. On the final night of her first set of shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, Swift subtly sneaks her beau into the transition between “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
Typically, between the two songs, a pair of male dancers in tuxedos and top hats carry Swift around like a rag doll, changing her into her next outfit while vaudeville-style music plays in the background. However, for this stop, in a surprise appearance, Kelce—dressed in the same formalwear—joins the two men, carrying Swift on his own and proceeding to fan her and use a makeup brush to touch up her face (essentially bringing her back to life), while the other two performers otherwise continue the skit as per usual.
The interlude fits neatly with the theme of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” which explores Swift’s obligation to continue working and performing even during emotionally turbulent moments in her life. Of course, the symbolism of Kelce carrying the singer after “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” is not lost on viewers—she has clearly found herself a man who supports her (and is big enough to carry her on his own). Also, it feels as if Swift is winking at her two British exes (Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy) by having Kelce appear specifically during a London stop.
Weeks later, on his podcast episode released on July 3, Kelce reveals it was his idea to join Swift on stage. “I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the 1989 era,’” He recalls, adding that while Swift initially laughed at the idea, but then asked, “‘Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?’’
Travis told her, “I was just like, ‘What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me? I’ve seen the show enough—might as well put me to work here,’” he recalls. “And sure enough, she found the perfect part of the show for me to come in.”
“It was an absolute blast,” he adds. “And I didn’t disappoint Taylor, so that’s all that really matters.”
June 22, 2024: Taylor goes Instagram official with Travis.
For the first time in their near-year of dating, Swift adds Kelce to her Instagram grid. She shares a selfie of her and Kelce posing backstage with Prince William and his two oldest kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, after her first London Eras Tour show. “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start 🇬🇧🇺🇸🤝@princeandprincessofwales,” Swift captions the snap, referencing William’s 42nd birthday, which he celebrated at the concert.
June 4, 2024: They land 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards nominations.
Swift and Kelce are on a winning streak. Per People, the pop singer and the football star are on the star-studded list of 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards nominees. Swift, to no one’s surprise, has the most nominations this year, with six total: Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Global Music Star, Favorite Ticket of the Year, and two for Favorite Music Collaboration.
Kelce, meanwhile, is up against Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, as well as fellow athletes Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, Lionel Messi, and Stephen Curry for favorite sports star. The tight end is a first-time nominee.

May 19, 2024: Travis reveals his favorite Taylor songs.
In a clip from an Access Hollywood interview shared on TikTok, Kelce is asked by an interviewer what his three favorite Taylor Swift songs are. Without hesitation, the football star says, “Golly. ‘Blank Space,’ ‘Alchemy,’ and ‘So High School,’ ” before flashing a big, toothy smile. As Swifties know, the pop singer is generally believed to have written the last two tracks Kelce mentioned about him and their romance for her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. So it’s only fitting they would make his top three.

The couple is spotted hand-in-hand as they board a private boat cruise on Lake Como.
