Travis Kelce has chosen to give his girlfriend Taylor Swift the gift of ‘safety and assurance’ for Christmas

Opening up further about the new safety measures Kelce has put in the place, the insider continued: ‘Aside from a team of skilled security protecting the perimeter and surrounding grounds of his home 24/7, he has also installed a safety room in his renovations, which also include a man cave underground.

‘He has installed a state-of-the-art security system with every single possible entry, including all windows, secured.’

The source added: ‘The burglary was a huge wakeup call for them, and they will not spare any expense when it comes to their safety.’

The NFL star’s renovations came after a source previously confirmed to DailyMail.com that the star would not be selling the property despite the shocking safety breach.

The break-in at Kelce’s lavish $6million home in Leawood, Kansas was on October 7 – the same day the Chiefs beat the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead while Swift, 34, watched on from the stands.

‘This was a calculated break-in and Taylor and Travis are not taking any chances,’ an insider stated at the time. ‘The intruders knew exactly when the house would be empty and could easily see that she was at the game he was playing in.

‘They knew how long they had to carry out the robbery based on when the game ended.

‘After the game, [the couple] stayed at a hotel and since then they have taken drastic measures including a more advanced in-home security system and reinforced locks, etc’.

The insider stated: ‘As the holidays approach, Travis has gone all out to make sure that the security system and security personnel at his home is invincible’

The situation was an unwanted reminder of Swift’s own brushes with intruders. In January, a man was arrested after attempting to open the front door of her Manhattan townhouse in New York City.

The insider confirmed Swift was not the target for the raid on Kelce’s mansion, and noted that Swift and her family always feel safe when she is with the NFL champ.

‘Taylor feels safe when she is with Travis, and he is by her side,’ the insider added. ‘Her family feels safe when he is with her.

‘And they will both feel incredibly safe at his house now because they also have around the clock armed security personnel to ensure nothing like this can ever happen again. They are sparing no expense.’

Mahomes and Kelce both live in the Kansas City suburbs, about a half hour from Arrowhead Stadium.

Kelce moved into his new home in Leawood last year, while the Mahomes family resides in Belton, Missouri.

The burglars reportedly targeted Mahomes’ house around midnight on October 6, just over a day before the Chiefs faced the Saints at Arrowhead Stadium.

All parties have moved on from the dramatic event, with Swift deciding to host Kelce and his family at her Nashville home over Thanksgiving.

And just last week, Kelce threw his girlfriend an epic Eras Tour-themed party to celebrate the end of her record-breaking tour and her 35th birthday on December 13.

Swift wrapped her record-breaking tour – which grossed $2 billion – on December 8 after nearly two years on the road.

Despite prior reports stating she was ‘exhausted’ after performing nearly 150 shows, Swift looked thrilled to be celebrating her special day with the likes of Brittany and Patrick Mahomes.

Kelce’s close friend Ross Travis – himself a former NFL player – uploaded the pictures to his Instagram with the caption: ‘Epic night for an Epic run!’

One of the images showed Travis and Taylor looking suave while Ross Travis sang into a microphone. He captioned the picture on his Instagram story: ‘Eras complete, congrats Tay!’

The other showed Taylor herself dancing with the microphone in her hand with Kelce standing close to her.

Brittany Mahomes had first shared pictures from the party on her own social media account on Wednesday afternoon.

Kelce and Swift celebrated their one-year anniversary back in July, having officially met a few months before Taylor attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023.

The singer and songwriter previously explained to Time magazine that they began hanging out after Kelce admitted he tried and failed to give her his phone number.

‘I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.’

Meanwhile, fans are hoping to see if the romance might inspire some new music as Swift has been seen making multiple trips to Electric Lady Studios in New York earlier this year.

At this time, it is still unknown if she was working on new music or making progress on her journey of re-recording all the songs from her first six albums.

She only has two albums left to re-record her debut album, Taylor Swift, and her sixth release, Reputation.
