Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Navigate Long-Distance Relationship as NFL Season Begins
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially back to long-distance status as Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, has reported to the team’s training camp in Kansas City, marking the end of his offseason.
Meanwhile, Swift remains on her European tour, unable to fly abroad to see her boyfriend as frequently as before.
Swift’s Upcoming Break
Despite her busy schedule, Swift will soon have a substantial break. The European leg of her tour concludes on Tuesday, August 20th, with a final show in London. After that, she will have time off until Friday, October 18th, when she resumes her tour in Miami. A source told NATF in late June that Swift plans to stay with Kelce at his Kansas City home during this break. “Taylor’s been having fun decorating his Kansas City place and she’s looking forward to the simple joys of being together,” the insider said.
Staying Connected
Even while apart, the couple remains connected. Another source mentioned that Swift and Kelce have daily FaceTime sessions and exchange cute texts. “They are wildly in love,” the source added.
NFL Schedule and Swift’s Tour
The Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp runs through August 15th, followed by preseason games against the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears on August 17th and 22nd. Swift’s schedule allows her the possibility of attending the Bears game. Additionally, the Chiefs’ first game of the season, a rematch with their recent Super Bowl opponent, the Baltimore Ravens, is set for September 5th. Swift could potentially attend this game as well.
A source speaking to People in early July shed light on how Kelce balances his professional and personal life. “Football is definitely still his priority, but so is his relationship,” the source said. Kelce makes romantic gestures to show he’s thinking of Swift when they’re apart, and Swift plans to attend as many games as possible.
NFL’s Consideration of Swift’s Tour Dates
In May, the NFL addressed rumors that they had scheduled the Chiefs’ regular season games around Swift’s tour schedule. Mike North, the NFL’s vice president of broadcast planning, clarified via ESPN, “We certainly considered the tour dates that hit NFL stadiums. I think she’s in Miami, maybe New Orleans, Indianapolis. We certainly considered those.” However, North dismissed conspiracy theories about scheduling games to coincide with Swift’s performances, saying, “Kansas City at Buffalo in the middle of the season right when Taylor’s playing Toronto – that one definitely did not hit our radar screen.”
As Swift and Kelce continue to navigate their long-distance relationship, fans eagerly await to see how they manage to spend time together amidst their demanding schedules.
